Cool trike tour pics
green is a nice color. especially nice to look at in this dead of winter. <3
These pictures just made me really excited for spring and summer, and the bike rides that will occur.
@INCENDIARISM - all right! that's the very idea. or at least to give us some strength and motivation to get there, eh?
definitely medicinal. and awesome, as always.
@fey_little_fay - kima! <1/3
@complicatedlight - R
WR!!!
Lovely, lovely
I can't wait for spring to arrive. I think I will weep for joy the first night I wake up to hear rain on the roof.
lovely photos. hope winter will go soon enough?
Was It Mr, Green Who Cut Your Arm Off?
WTF?
ooo i want it to be summer
ha ha, i bet phil has it calculated down to the ounce of exactly how much booze and KY jelly that contraption can tote around the countryside
Oh, man. That looks like so much fun! How much ground did you cover?
@Ooglick - 600 miles in 8 days. and yes, it's a complete blast. all you have to do is eat and pedal and sleep. and take it allll in. nothing better for the soul.
@complicatedlight - Wow! That's awesome! Though I hope you didn't have to go up any steep hills! That part kinda sucks. >_< But flat country all the way? That would be so amazing!
@Ooglick - it was mostly minnesota which is mostly flatish and pastoral and very beautiful...except near the lakes where it has not very long but *extemely* steep hills. so i had a good two days with those. yeah, loaded as i was, they were quite challenging. i was mostly worried about breaking a chain. the 9 speed freewheel clusters they use nowadays demand very thin chains - and they DO break. found that out the hard way.
You make me want to ride my bike around the country.
If I get lost, I'm blaming you, Phil-bear. <3
@Le_Ravin - don't worry. if you get lost give me a call; i'll come pick you up.
Green. I heard dire predictions for tonight's weather but I'm expecting summer to begin tomorrow. Your decision to post is an omen of divine providence.
I miss that color. Where did you go on your tour?
@godfatherofgreenbay - i miss it too. luce line trail west to hutchinson, then roads north up to avon (near I-94) where i got on the lake wobegon trail to fergus falls. after that, more roads to fargo. spent a few days in f-town, then did it all again in reverse. a splendid ride.
I know Hutchinson. Pretty swell place. You ever make it down to New Ulm? How about any tours of Wisconsin?
@godfatherofgreenbay - watertown, but no new ulm. and heh...eden valley. tours: been up the east coast (FL to MA). another trip from missoula, MT to flagstaff, AZ. and most recently, the relatively short hop out to fargo and back. as far as wisconsin goes, i love the trails between menomonie and eau clair. but those are just day rides.
ha...watertown
If you ever look for one in Wisconsin you should check out the Elroy-Sparta Trail and then the 400 Trail...I try to do advertising for the trails in my area.
@godfatherofgreenbay - those do look nice. wisconsin is a pretty state.
@dirtbubble - it's going to be -17 here tonight. actual, not wind chill....so i'll have what you're having.
This is awesome. I need to get out and do this or something.
HEY YOU.
I've missed ya!
@anaraug - yes you do.
@At_Sixes_And_Sevens - hey tony. down here. i'm down here commenting!
phil, you still doin your thang on some crazy ass bike!
hold on. wait a minute! these are from 2009? wtHELLLLLLLLLL. where's the trip through the masses of 2011 snow, phil? you wanna impress us? travel on your homemade cycle through THAAAAAAT shit.
@curtainsopen - i only have 1.5 inches of ground clearance on that thing; it's only notable failing.
If it weren't for this being outdoors and all, I'd so be into this.
I don't know if you know this or not, but... There's nature out there. Like, bugs and dirt and stuff.
I think you might've gotten some on you!
@Automaton_Emotion - you're not the outdoor type? i wouldn't have guessed that, you mystery, you.
@complicatedlight - I like the outdoors best when observed from the safety of the indoors. True story.
Now I know what I'm doing with my summer vacation!
very cool adventure you went on
you gonna plan another one of those for this summer?
@TheBillion - it's not an unlikely outcome.
YEA!!
@McScarry - you BET!
wow, it's been so long I had forgotten how much you turn me on.
(also, the green is pretty attractive. Winter lasts far too long, here.)
