Xanga Shutting Down? Aw, SEX.
SO ANYWAY, I’ve spent my life pretty much not worrying about money. Welp, it turns out that’s a bad business model. In an effort to address this gap in my portfolio, with an eye toward acceleration at my advancing age, I keep goading a friend of mine to buy an urban parking garage with me. I’m sure it’s a dirty business, but whatever. Just pay Johnny-Tight-Lips the protection. It’s a parking garage, right? Where people actually pay money for the air above two yellow lines. If there’s a way to lose, I’m still trying to find it. No matter how it splits out.
Xanguh, huh? Maybe yes maybe no…maybe rain, maybe snow.
Oh. And SEX.
SRSLY.

I’m conflicted. I dislike paying $5-20 to park, but there’s no denying that owning a parking garage would mean serious financial security.If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em, eh?
sex is right.
@SoapAndShampoo - ethics is for chumps. granted it took me awhile to come around to “the reagan way”. three and a half decades, to be more precise. BUT I’M ALL-IN NOW.
*SEXY TRICYCLES PARK FOR FREE* – every fri. thru sat.
@At_Sixes_And_Sevens - well looky here. i like it.
@MichellelyNg - well duh. you KNOW thaaat.
that’s it? you just mention the sex once? oh. wait. parking garage is a metaphor. i get it.
@complicatedlight - haha yes and most of us like that lol
In addition to your sex parking lot idea, I would suggest investing in stocks.
maybe si, maybe no? aw, FUCK. these are strange times indeed.
I think I’ve been saving for the future my whole life. It hasn’t made me happy yet. The future is always too far away.
and that, kids, is the story of how I met your mother
@mercurious_v1 - @SoapAndShampoo - @At_Sixes_And_Sevens - @MichellelyNg - @promisesunshine - @QuantumStorm - @be_the_rain - @LadyofWaters - @godfatherofgreenbay - you guys are great. it warms my heart to write a little post and be regaled by a ragtag collection of the most wittiest, dearest peeps on the inter-tubes – YOU GUYS. xanga *is* special. it will always have a special place in my heart. just like YOU GUYS. maybe i’ll go over to wordpress (i’ve got a complicatedlight page set up there)…but this place and time where we all met and fell in love or something like it, it will never pass again. meantime, i’ll be over on that cold blue phonebook called facebook. if you havent already please friend me there by searching (you guessed it) complicatedlight. that goes for all of you and anyone else who comments here. YOU GUYS. <3
@godfatherofgreenbay - snort
@promisesunshine - i know, right?
@complicatedlight - thanks for that! will follow your bear prints on the blue phonebook. take bear care =)
i have nothing to add… this thread was just too damn much fun to read!
I have seen signs that say “Park And Ride”. I always assumed those were for automobile sex.
@complicatedlight - THE FEELZ
Do/will you become present elsewhere online? You do good internets man.
<3
And that’s why some of us just park at the public library every day and use free wi-fi.Whether Xanga passes or is resurrected on a paid model, this blogger’s going gently into that good night. Feels like it might have been time for a reincarnation of Epi anyway. I’ll look you up in those other Internet spaces. Had a dream the other night in the midst of which I bumped into you out ‘n’ about somewhere and said we should stay in touch after this thing here ends. (You should be damn flattered. ) Thanks for reading and saying something back all these years. *smack*

@ShimmerBodyCream - you’re just sayin’ that. i can tell.
urban parking garage…….headache. are you going to collect the money yourself or hire someone else to do it? i mean, it sounds like a great idea. everyone needs parking. a life without worrying about money sounds like a good life.
@ordinarybutloud - i almost mentioned that i’ll be hiring impoverished college students to collect the money…but i figured that was self-evident. i wonder, is that underestimating my readers? or probably just me, being lazy.
hm. it was probably self-evident, and I was just being unusually stupid. It happens sometimes, with the ordinary.
Sexxxxxxxxx
@stickerprice - exactly. well, pretty much. i mean…xanga is going away. probably. besides going in on a car park, what else ya gonna do?
I don’t get it. I need a fishing net above my head, I guess?
Hahahaha
Thank you for the lead. I think I have a facebook. I have google circles or something like that too.
@Swirling_Spiral - google spirals?
xanga is still good if you like cemeteries and lots of sites to necro comment on
Money is stoopid.
You post bumper! I caught you!
@kaiori - nuh-UH. look at the time stamp. no change. all i did was edit an old post from 2007, for a friend to read. no adjustment of the time stamp there, either. but that’s xanga, right?
I missed you! I will pay for your Xanga subscription on 2.0 if you will still write.
Yes our dear silly xanga making alll the confusions
Sounds like a good plan to me. Guaranteed money in a good city location. If you’re able and haven’t already – interview some owners outside your area to get a feel for the true pros/cons of owning one.
@SoullFire - i’m sure it’s not all roses, but even so…yeah.
You don’t have to worry though, because you’re Xanga Premium. I’m surprised they’re still trying to keep it going.
knock knock. are we still here? yes, i think we are. then: riiiinnggggg riingg riingg……happy august. again. : )
@be_the_rain - …hello? lea? …august? *checks watch* by golly so it is! happy august to you t…what? yes, yes. don’t worry, i won’t forget the milk.
parking garage is a winning model. thx for reminding me.
