Shortest clip ever? *thinks* I really just want to take that wheel apart now. I’m assuming there’s an inner ring attached to the chassis and a second rim lined with rubber on either side of it that runs in some sort of groove…
@Ooglick - yes, i think it’s pretty much as you describe. doesn’t make much sense to do things that way because the bearings are going to have to rotate much faster than they would if they were at the hub center. and as we all know, faster rotation means more distance covered by the rotating part…and work = force x distance. so not a winner for efficiency, i’ll tell you that. and efficiency is everything in human powered anything.
i just love the juxtaposition of the take no prisoners soundtrack with the guy missing a pedal…
